🚨 [Important] Update your DNS records to continue using custom domains

Hey Community

We’re excited to announce an update to our custom domains! With this update, you can generate your magic-links faster than ever before, many more features are on the way. To take advantage of this, you’ll need to update your DNS records. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition:

  1. Access Your DNS Provider - Log in to your domain registrar or DNS hosting provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare etc.) and Navigate to the DNS management or DNS settings section of your provider’s dashboard.
  2. Update Your CNAME Record:
    • Find the CNAME record associated with your custom domain.
    • Update the CNAME record to point to: heybase-dns.com.
  3. Verify the Update in Heybase:
    • Log in to your Heybase account.
    • Go to Settings > Domain.
    • Click on “Verify

:bulb: DNS changes can take some time to propagate across the internet. Typically, this process may take up to 24-48 hours.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support!

I had my subdomain working with that DNS configuration and now it does not verify it

@mario_guzman it just got verified :white_check_mark:

Hey Shubham,

So with this new cname DNS record do we remove all the old ones? So total should have 1 Cname? And would this effect the emails as well?

These are the 3 current records:

Hi @Chris_360Marketing, You can remove the following records

TXT and CNAME [pm-bounces.business.com](http://pm-bounces.business.com/)

We are coming up with some changes in email sent via Heybase (integration with CRM and outreach apps) so no need to have those records.

Beyond frustrating that this comes as a surprise with zero warning. We’re having to create new links for active sites for prospects, making us look sloppy and having us waste time.

Please provide advance warning of administrative changes that will need to be made – at least a week.

Must I keep the TXT domainkey record for the emails or do you have an updated record for those as well? or does that feature just not function anymore with your new system?

@GaryK you don’t need to make new links neither will your links stop working if you don’t update the DNS records right away. Let me explain how this update affects.

:white_check_mark: All your existing links works as expected
:white_check_mark: You will need to update DNS records to generate new links
:white_check_mark: Existing links will still work for (30 days) if you don’t updateDNS records

I can not even press it now
Why
